Prayers For A Special Person

I usually try not to get into religious discussions with people because religion is a very personal issue that is often held in very strong regard. It can be a very divisive conversation if not handled properly. However, having said that, I am going to take this opportunity to offer a few encouraging words for a special person that I met on a website that I frequent. She has recently had to deal with more than any person should have to endure.

Ottavarima, my thoughts and prayers are with you. The following is from a painting that my grandmother had on the wall. She believed it whole-heartedly, and passed it on to me to provide strength during my trying times. I'm not real sure how to describe the feeling that it brings me, but it has always provided a sense of peace during troubling times throughout my life. Hopefully, it will bring you that same sense of peace.

Take care of yourself, and get well soon.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
